The Quality Control of Concrete plays an important role in the construction Site as the concrete is used in huge amount on any construction. The Concrete strength parameters such as durability of concrete, load bearing strength and resistance to environmental factors such as wind, snow and water depends on the quality of concrete.
Therefore, the concrete quanty is considered a important factor in the construction of any building or other structure. Normally, the concrete quality is checked in the different stages of the concreting process.

1.Pre – concrete Quality Checks:
This type of quality checks concrete consists of 2 steps.
Cement quality is assure by making compressive strength tests on cement cubes. Some effective wats of control cement:
- Each and every source of cement should checked once and subsequently once for every two months
- Cement Should be protected from moisture
- Cement Should be retested after 3 months of storage, if long storage in unavoidable
- Cement Should be rejected if large lump are found in cement bags.
The aggregates used in concrete should confirm to specified values as per standard specification for quality control of concrete
The aggregates quality in concrete is affected by different physical and mechanical properties of aggregate, i.e. size, grading, durability, specific gravity and water absorption etc. Test of this properties of aggregate should be tested before using it for concrete production.
The quantity of deteriorated materials and organic impurities should also be tested.
sand bulking is also an important property in several ways. The bulking of sand affect results when volume batching is done by increasing water cement ratio which in turn reduces strength.

For effective control of aggregates:
The water quality must checked for the requirements as specified in respective standard. Chemical testing is essential for approval of source. If there is suspended impurities, it is required to store water for some time to allow them to settle down. If there is any doubt onconcrete cubes made with this water are tested.
Concrete cube or cylinders should be prepared with water proposed to be used shall not be less than 90% of the average strength of three similar concrete cubes prepared with distilled water.
